Abe is an ethnobotanist and naturalist with interests in Indigenous foods and Pacific Northwest biodiversity (especially botany). He is a Senior Instructor for both the College of the Environment and Fairhaven College where he uses place-based experiential methods to encourage his students to ask hard questions about the natural world (and sometimes themselves).
