Michael Alvarez Shepard, PhD

My research and teaching interests involve intersections between the protection of treaty rights, cultural sustainability, and environmental stewardship in the Pacific Northwest. I am a graduate of WWU and worked at Northwest Indian College prior to teaching for WWU’s Anthropology Department.

What is your favorite activity to do in the Salish Sea: I enjoy swimming and paddle boarding.
