Josh Cerretti is an educator and organizer who has lived on the shores of the Salish Sea since 2014. He teaches History and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at WWU while conducting research on the problems of state violence in US history. He is the creator of the Bellingham History from Below tour, a place-based learning experience in downtown Bellingham and is the author of Abuses of the Erotic: Militarizing Sexuality in the Post-Cold War United States (University of Nebraska Press, 2019). He is currently working on a project about the history of commercial sex on Bellingham’s waterfront.
