I am Associate Professor at Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies where I teach courses in ethnobotany, biodiversity conservation, ecological restoration, and the ecology of food. An ethnobotanist by training, my Salish Sea-related research includes an applied project to understand the botanical diversity and vegetation history of Sehome Hill, and support the management of Sehome Hill Arboretum as an urban natural area. I am also the faculty advisor for Western’s campus organic gardens, known as the Outback Farm.
What is your favorite activity to do in the Salish Sea:
Camping with family and friends at Spencer Spit State Park on Lopez Island.
