Brian Burton

Brian Burton, our acaemic leader, retired as Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs in August. Brian was a key figure in creating the Salish Sea Institute at WWU and has been involved in numerous efforts to ensure that the university strengthened its ties and commitment to this amazing place where we’re situated. We are grateful for the chance to work with him and wish him well as he enjoys one day after another without needing to wear a tie. I’m inspired by his dedication and grateful that Brian has agreed to serve the Institute as a Salish Sea Champion
